Ideogram Releases Ideogram 4.5 with Targeted In-Image Editing and Native 2K Output

Ideogram has launched Ideogram 4.5, an image generation model designed to alter selected elements of an image without degrading or shifting the surrounding composition. Available now via platform and API, the model offers native 2K resolution across four pricing tiers, with an open-weight release planned.

Ideogram Debuts Ideogram 4.5 for Precision Image Edits

AI image generation startup Ideogram announced the launch of Ideogram 4.5 on Oct. 1, 2026, targeting one of the persistent pain points in generative image workflows: non-destructive local editing. The new model is engineered to modify isolated segments of an image—such as changing an individual's clothing—while keeping backgrounds, subject proportions, and untargeted details completely unchanged.

Native 2K Resolution, Tiered Pricing, and Partner Integrations

Ideogram 4.5 outputs images at native 2K resolution and is offered across four quality tiers, with pricing scaling from 0.8 cents to 22 cents per image. The company highlighted several primary use cases for the model, including in-image text editing, product photography, interior design, and photo restoration. Early testers have reported strong visual consistency across iterative adjustments.

The model is accessible immediately through both the Ideogram web interface and its developer API. Launch partners integrating the technology include creative tools and video platforms Picsart, Runway, Pika, and Leonardo AI. Ideogram also confirmed that an open-weight version of the model will be released in the near future.

Solving the Iterative Artifact Problem

Precise inpainting has historically challenged frontier image models. While contemporary systems like GPT-Image 2.5 and Nano Banana have made progress in local manipulation, they often introduce cumulative visual artifacts and subtle distortions to unedited regions after repeated passes. Ideogram claims that Ideogram 4.5 overcomes this issue by strictly confining edits to the user-designated area, maintaining the integrity of the original frame across multi-turn editing sessions.
