Cohere Unveils North 2 as Model-Agnostic Enterprise Control Center for AI Agents
Cohere has introduced North 2, an enterprise platform that coordinates autonomous AI agents across third-party models and supports air-gapped deployments.

Cohere has upgraded its enterprise AI platform with the launch of North 2, turning it into a dedicated control room designed to build, coordinate, and supervise autonomous AI agents across corporate environments.
The updated platform focuses on managing multi-step workflows independently while maintaining context across multiple user sessions.
Multi-Step Agent Orchestration and Tool Integration
North 2 introduces an overhauled orchestration engine that allows AI agents to leverage shared knowledge repositories and reuse functional skills across an organization. The system bridges directly into common workplace productivity tools, including Jira, Slack, and SharePoint.
Beyond information retrieval and task execution, North 2 enables users to generate outputs directly from chat prompts. Employees can prompt the system to create simple applications, interactive dashboards, and business presentations on the fly.
Flexible Deployment and Model-Agnostic Architecture
To appeal to organizations with strict data privacy and governance mandates, North 2 is designed to be fully model-agnostic. While it supports Cohere's native language models such as Command A+, enterprises can also bring their own proprietary or third-party AI models into the platform.
Deployments are flexible: companies can run North 2 in standard cloud configurations, on-premises infrastructure, or entirely disconnected in air-gapped setups. Cohere also noted that running its models on Nvidia's Hopper and Blackwell hardware architectures reduces the total number of tokens required to complete tasks.
Enterprise Controls and Market Focus
For administrative oversight, the platform provides a dedicated portal called "North Admin." The management console allows operators to:
- Regulate user quotas and track token consumption.
- Restrict access controls down to individual agents.
- Require mandatory human-in-the-loop approvals before agents perform sensitive or critical actions.
Cohere is specifically aiming North 2 at government agencies and regulated industries that prioritize keeping internal data strictly within their perimeter. Production deployments are already underway with enterprise customers, including LG CNS and Bell Cyber.
The target demographic mirrors that of German AI developer Aleph Alpha, which Cohere acquired in April. Aleph Alpha recently introduced Kolibri, a bilingual German-English model, reinforcing Cohere's broader push into sovereign and regulated IT markets.
