France Accelerates Sovereign and Agentic AI Across Space, Enterprise, and Robotics With NVIDIA
French organizations are rapidly deploying agentic computing and sovereign AI infrastructure using NVIDIA hardware and open models, reaching applications from orbital satellites to public services and robotics.

France is scaling its artificial intelligence ecosystem from strategic infrastructure planning into broad enterprise deployment. Backed by commitments established during the AI Action Summit in February 2025 and consecutive Choose France Summits in 2025 and 2026, French organizations across space, finance, public services, and manufacturing are implementing agentic computing pipelines powered by NVIDIA architectures and open-weight models.
The expansion spans hardware manufacturing, edge deployment in orbit, sovereign workplace solutions, and physical automation.
Sovereign Infrastructure and Edge AI in Orbit
A cornerstone of the initiative is local, sovereign computing capacity. Bull is preparing European AI server manufacturing for NVIDIA Vera Rubin Ultra NVL72 systems slated for 2028. The production involves manufacturing trays in Europe and managing rack integration at its Angers facility, which was inaugurated on October 2.
At the edge, France’s AI footprint has reached space. Altair-1, the first satellite in a planned $1 billion, 50-satellite constellation equipped with autonomous capabilities, recently launched and reached orbit. Built in Abu Dhabi by Orbitworks—a joint venture between Loft Orbital and Marlan Space—and integrated by Loft Orbital, the satellite operates NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin edge modules running models from French AI developer Mistral. The setup enables on-orbit autonomous operations and real-time Earth observation directly from space.
Open Models Drive Sovereign Public and Financial Systems
French institutions are also prioritizing sovereign control over sensitive workloads by relying on open models, including the NVIDIA Nemotron family and Mistral architectures.
- Public Sector: LINAGORA and Docaposte secured the CANUT framework agreement, positioning Twake.ai—built on NVIDIA Nemotron—as the sole referenced sovereign digital workplace across more than 2,500 French public institutions.
- Financial Services: SBS collaborated with NVIDIA to introduce a sovereign platform allowing banks to deploy governed generative and agentic workflows within internal environments.
- Frontier Modeling: Mistral rolled out a private preview of its Mistral Large 4 open model, designed for multimodal tasks, cyber defense, finance, and manufacturing. Meanwhile, Fondation Inria is launching a specialized working group focused on open-source advanced modeling and tooling adoption, with initial findings expected in spring 2027.
Enterprise, Robotics, and Quantum Adoption
Across industry sectors, enterprise integration of agentic computing is yielding tangible efficiency gains:
- Cosmetics & Science: L’Oréal is integrating NVIDIA ALCHEMI into laboratory research workflows to simulate formulations in silico, accelerating proprietary active ingredient discovery up to 100x compared to conventional techniques.
- E-Commerce & Digital Commerce: Marketplace platform Mirakl has processed more than 70 million products using fine-tuned open models running on NVIDIA infrastructure, shortening seller catalog onboarding times to under two hours. Digital asset startup Omi reported 4x faster inference by combining 3D digital twins with optimized open models.
- Infrastructure & Public Works: In the Côte-d’Or department, ThinkDeep and Akila created a digital-twin agent utilizing NVIDIA Cosmos world models, Nemotron, and Omniverse libraries to manage nearly 5,800 kilometers of roads and infrastructure, achieving a 10% operating cost reduction with a target of 30%.
- Robotics & Telecommunications: Paris-based robotics developer Enchanted Tools is fielding social robots in healthcare environments, including pediatric cancer care units. In telecom, Bouygues Telecom and Prisme.ai deployed AI Studio V2, enabling staff to build internal agents in secure environments.
- Quantum Computing: Hardware startups Alice & Bob and Quandela have adopted the NVIDIA NVQLink platform. Alice & Bob is leveraging the technology to optimize quantum error correction on superconducting cat qubits, while Quandela connects photonic qubits to DGX Spark hardware to pioneer hybrid quantum-classical supercomputing.
